LEGO designers have clarified that there are three divisions within the LEGO Winter Village Collection, explaining the connection between each set.
The latest LEGO Building Stories video is now online, following an initial entry for the Modular Buildings Collection. This time, designers Chris McVeigh, Pierre Normandin and Antica Bracanov are taking us on a tour of the LEGO Winter Village Collection, providing more context for each model.
From 10199 Winter Village Toy Shop to the most recent
"I think we've established that there are different Winter Village sub-divisions," shares Chris McVeigh. "We certainly have a more fantasy-based area that has the gingerbread house, the elf clubhouse and Santa's workshop.
"Then we have a traditional section which includes the toy shop, the fire station and Santa's visit and I think the train is something that connects them all."
Traditional
The village part of the Winter Village appears to include most of the sets according to the guidelines set out in the video. They tend to depict realistic buildings, with a hint of the fantastical suggesting a wider Winter Village universe in
Fantasy
The fantastical sets are more outlandish compared to the rest of the Winter Village, presenting more interesting concepts and including just three models. All of these are now retired though, but it suggests that this area of the Winter Village could expand in the future.
