The LEGO DREAMZzz magazine is already bringing us its best minifigure, three issues in

We’re only two issues into the brand new LEGO DREAMZzz magazine, but the next issue is already set to bring us what’s arguably the theme’s best minifigure.

In a classic case of ‘where do we go from here?’, Issue 3 of the bi-monthly LEGO DREAMZzz magazine will include a free paper-bagged Nightmare King minifigure on the front cover. The big bad of the new LEGO DREAMZzz theme only appears in two sets so far – 71457 Pegasus Flying Horse and 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship – and currently commands an average of £16 new on BrickLink, so copping him in a magazine priced at £4.50 is definitely a win.

The Nightmare King is notable for his unique moulded headgear and cape, which together add up to one of the coolest original minifigures to come out of the LEGO DREAMZzz theme. The individual elements for this character are actually all listed through Pick a Brick at the moment, but at the time of writing the unique head and printed legs are out of stock in the UK – and even when they are in stock, you’ll need to spend £6.36 to get them all.

That’s without the bonus staff weapon that’s included in the mag (no unique sword though, boo), so the upcoming issue really is the easiest and cheapest way to get your hands on the Nightmare King (if you aren’t planning on picking up either 71457 Pegasus Flying Horse or 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship). Promobricks reports the mag will be available on shelves in Germany in January, so expect it to arrive in the UK in February 2024.

The second issue of the LEGO DREAMZzz magazine is out now on the continent, and should debut in the UK in early December. That one comes with Cooper (complete with helmet and robot arms), who has so far only shown up otherwise in 71458 Crocodile Car and 71459 Stable of Dream Creatures (and the latter sans helmet). If you’re lucky, you might still be able to find Issue 1 in the UK, which includes Mateo and a mini Z-Blob build.
