The LEGO Group has published listings for the three new Speed Champions sets coming our way in 2024, confirming that they’re getting a price rise on their 2023 counterparts.
76920 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, 76921 Audi S1 e-tron quattro and
Single cars now cost £20.99 / $26.99 / €26.99 apiece, compared to their 2023 prices of £19.99 / €24.99. Double-packs, meanwhile, are rising to £44.99 / $44.99 / €49.99 from £39.99 / €44.99 – or not in the US. Those may only be minor bumps in the grand scheme of things, but not so long ago – 2021, in fact – single cars could be had for only £17.99 each, while basic two-packs retailed for just £34.99.
That makes this the second price rise in three years, which must be pretty grating for LEGO Speed Champions collectors – not least because the cars have remained steady at eight studs wide since 2020, and part counts have not dramatically increased. Whether this comes back to bite the LEGO Group remains to be seen, but we’d be surprised to see prices come back down once they’re up.
The LEGO.com listings for these sets also confirm that they’re due to arrive on March 1, 2024 – contrary to JB Spielwaren’s listings, which suggested they’d race on to shelves in January. Check out the UK and European prices for all three sets in the table below, and click through each set name to learn more about each one. The US prices have not been confirmed at the time of writing.
