LEGO Braille Bricks named one of the best inventions of 2023

The LEGO Group's Braille Bricks have earned another reward, this time being named one of the best inventions released throughout 2023.

Available now in the form of 40656 Play with Braille – English and 40655 Play with Braille – French for £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99, TIME has awarded the accessible LEGO sets the title of one of the best inventions of 2023 in the Accessibility category.

Featuring 287 specialised pieces matching the alphabet and numbers in Braille as well as a brick separator and baseplates, Braille Bricks were recently offered for sale for the first time after being available since 2020 to select institutions in countries around the world, adding more to the list in 2021.

It's not the first time that the program has been up for an award as it was nominated for the Index Project awards in 2021. Earning a spot on the list of TIME's Best Inventions of 2023 is still no small feat though. Braille Bricks now sit alongside the likes of the PlayStation 5 Access Controller, the Apple Vision Pro and many more inventions big and small.

Braille Bricks are available now to everyone for £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99 in either 40656 Play with Braille – English or 40655 Play with Braille – French, depending on your region.
