A trio of LEGO DC Batmobiles will race into view in March 2026, but exactly who the superhero sets are aimed at is worth unpacking now we've got them in hand.
LEGO DC’s March 2026 wave brings with it three all-new Batmobile builds, one of which has never been recreated in brick form before. 76331 Batman v Superman Batmobile, 76332 The Batman Batmobile and
From who the LEGO DC models are targeted at and why fans might want to pick them up to the strange proportions of some of the builds and whether or not they’ll be a hit or a miss, it's time to embark on a deep dive into the Caped Crusader’s upcoming crimefighting vehicles.
LEGO Speed Champions sets in all but name?

Over the course of LEGO Batman’s 20-year history, we’ve seen numerous Batmobiles delivered in all shapes and sizes, from tiny polybags and minifigure-scale models to massive adult collector sets such as 76139 1989 Batmobile, 76240 Batmobile Tumbler and

We’ve seen a couple of exciting and fresh releases from LEGO Speed Champions this month in the shape of 77255 Lightning McQueen and 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future, both of which are based on popular licensed properties and have helped push the theme beyond its many F1 and classic car releases.
Current LEGO Speed Champions sets usually conform to being eight studs wide, allowing for more accurate proportions, realistic details and the option to sometimes have room to fit two minifigures inside side-by-side.
What’s notable about the LEGO DC 2026 Batmobiles is that the main base of each vehicle is six studs wide, which matches the pre-2020 size of LEGO Speed Champions models. However, adding additional bodywork, strange proportions, Bat fins and (in some cases) much larger wheels does push them beyond that scale, making them an even closer fit to the latter theme.
With even more licensed LEGO Speed Champions sets being released recently and the theme beginning to stray from its original petrolhead roots, the trio of upcoming Batmobiles might well have been a good fit for the vehicle-based range of models.
What may have been a contributing factor to keeping 76331 Batman v Superman Batmobile, 76332 The Batman Batmobile and
Who are the LEGO DC 2026 Batmobiles aimed at?

For instance, while many younger DC fans will probably be aware of or have possibly even seen 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, far fewer are likely to know of George Clooney’s take on the character in Batman & Robin, which hit the big screen in 1997.
Likewise, Matt Reeves’ The Batman landed in 2022 and received a 15 rating in the UK, so while the movie wasn’t specifically aimed at kids, that target audience has no doubt been exposed to the much darker take on the character through licensed merchandise (such as the tie-in LEGO sets), a category the upcoming 76332 The Batman Batmobile definitely fits into.
The LEGO DC design team has also ditched some features that were seen in past Batmobile releases, so there’s no sign of any younger play functionality such as stud shooters, something that probably won’t be missed by more mature fans.
So if the three new LEGO DC Batmobiles aren’t aimed at the demographic on each box, that must mean they’re being marketed towards an older collector’s market... right? That may well be the case, with all three sets requiring some prior knowledge of the films they’re based on, having to attach a handful of fiddly stickers and the lack of any previously included play features.
Yet the piece counts and price point of the LEGO DC sets also places them in the same ballpark as many LEGO Speed Champions releases, making them affordable pocket money purchases, and a lack of complexity pushes them away from the more adult collectors’ market.
The line-up of new LEGO Batmobiles could also potentially be the sign of a possible new subtheme within LEGO DC, delivering smaller vehicles that can form part of a much larger display collection, again similar to the LEGO Speed Champions approach.
The answer therefore would seem to be somewhere in the middle of both camps, with 76331 Batman v Superman Batmobile, 76332 The Batman Batmobile and
Do the LEGO DC sets achieve their goals?

We’ll find out for sure just how successful 76331 Batman v Superman Batmobile, 76332 The Batman Batmobile and
However, with an accessible price point, plus LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game codes and a golden 20th-anniversary coin in each set, there’s likely to be a favourite vehicle from the three builds for the vast majority of Dark Knight fans.
For some, the appeal of 76331 Batman v Superman Batmobile may be the LEGO DC set’s more movie-accurate styling and colour scheme, something that was sadly lacking from both 2016’s 76045 Kryptonite Interception and the same vehicle included in 2017’s 76087 Flying Fox: Batmobile Airlift Attack, as well as an improved Batfleck minifigure.
Others might prefer 76332 The Batman Batmobile, as it delivers a much more satisfying build than 2021’s 76181 Batmobile: The Penguin Chase, as noted in our review of the LEGO DC set. The vehicle is a much closer match to its original source material and also just happens to come with the best Battinson minifigure variant we’ve seen to date.
