Which LEGO sets are worth buying in Insiders sale?

The official online store is currently hosting a LEGO Insiders-exclusive sale on select LEGO sets, including some rare discounts worth considering.

LEGO.com's discounts aren't typically as good as those of other retailers, but their expanded stock means that these price reductions are more reliably available. The latest sale on the official online store, exclusively for members of the LEGO Insiders reward program, has several models that are not often on offer, or not currently at this price.

We've looked through the full scope of the sale, and these are the LEGO sets included in the sale with genuinely worthwhile discounts.

72038 Mario Kart – Wario & King Boo is the only Super Mario set to include Wario, a character that we waited multiple years to see in the theme. With Super Mario minifigures to be released next year, we may be waiting a while before our next LEGO Wario, but you can pick up the character and the rest of the set for 20% off at the time of writing.

There's also 20% off the Minecraft-inspired 21277 The Pickaxe Mine, which we reviewed last year. LEGO Minecraft sets aren't often on sale, especially by 20% off. This model depicts an upscaled pickaxe in an eye-catching tribute to the game.

Ahead of the upcoming Megatron BrickHeadz, you can also pick up 40803 Optimus Prime Robot & Vehicle for 20% off, though it is temporarily out of stock in some regions. There are also some discounts on both of the current NINJAGO Legends models.

Both 71846 The Fire Knight Mech and 71847 The Guardian Dragon are 20% off. They're the first pair of display-focused models for LEGO NINJAGO, but another trio is coming next month.

77073 Battle Bus is 15% off in some regions with nine exclusive minifigures to pick up. It's also not always in stock at secondary retailers and is a consistently popular gift.

Some of the biggest savings available in varying regions include 20% off a massive LEGO City and Friends model, with retirement dates coming up fast. That includes 20% off the 815-piece 60368 Arctic Explorer Ship and the retiring 42670 Heartlake City Apartments and Stores, which is sold out in some locations.
