Batman Day 2025 brought a new behind-the-scenes video for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and we learned a lot from the footage.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's release in 2026 nears with every passing day, and to help us count down the hours, the DC and TT Games teams revealed a new featurette for the title yesterday, filled with new information to digest and analyse.
Whether you have yet to watch the new video or are otherwise eager to learn anything you can about the next LEGO game, here's every major news drop from the behind-the-scenes featurette.
More confirmed suits
A major part of the marketing for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight continued in the video, which showcased a few more suits that had not been confirmed for the game before. These include a Batman 1966 suit, the Serial Suit, a Batman: The Animated Series suit and the Sonar Suit.
Two of these designs have been taken from real sets, and one of them is going to pair perfectly with a newly confirmed LEGO Batmobile featured in the game.
More confirmed Batmobiles
Two new Batmobiles were featured in the video. These are the 1966 classic TV series Batmobile, which will pair perfectly with its matching suit, and the Batman Forever Batmobile, based on the

We're going back to the beginning

When TT Games explained that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight would tell an original story based on Batman's legacy, they meant the very beginning, too. While previous footage confirmed that we'd see Bruce Wayne training with the League of Shadows in his training to become Batman, the new video has also confirmed that we'll be playing as a much younger Bruce Wayne alongside his parents.
You likely already know what happens to Bruce Wayne's parents, and it will be interesting to see how a LEGO game approaches the inevitable subject matter. This brief reveal also lead to another exciting piece of information.
Wayne Manor is playable

While sharing that we'll be playing Batman's story from the very beginning, a quick look at LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's Wayne Manor was showcased. The bottom right of the above image features a floating stud, which players can collect in the open world or in specific levels in LEGO games.
This must mean that Wayne Manor is a playable location that we'll actually visit in the title. Whether it's a specific level or part of the game's massive open world has yet to be confirmed. We know that the Batcave underneath it can be visited and customised, so it's not a stretch to believe that the manor above can be as well.
Catwoman's outfit

Following a brief appearance in previous footage, Catwoman's base outfit for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark has now been revealed. It looks to take inspiration from both The Batman and Batman Returns' appearances of the character.
Catwoman is one of seven playable characters in the new LEGO game, and similar to both Batman and Jim Gordon, she's expected to feature several different outfits to equip.
Rain effects
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is building off the rain effects in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in an impactful graphics update. Whereas rain in the last LEGO game only affected the landscape and surroundings, the new video details that the Batman title will feature visible raindrops on characters and vehicles.
It's a massive step up for LEGO games, and given that we've only seen the open world Gotham at night in the rain so far, it's a change that will certainly be noticeable.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2026. Players who sign up for a WB Games account right now can grab a free Golden Age Batsuit inspired by Detective Comics #27.
