Watch a hands-on review of the new LEGO Triceratops

It's time for another LEGO summer 2026 set review, this time concerning the next big fossil set, which proves that good things come in small(er) packages.

Matthew is back with another YouTube video review, taking a hands-on look at everything in 77985 Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops. The 1,154-piece model follows up on the much larger 76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex from 2025, complete with a lower piece count and a more affordable price.

Despite its smaller size, rest assured that this model is a standout in the summer 2026 waves, demonstrating that bigger isn't always better. Watch our new review now to see what makes this set so great.

The hands-on format of this video review means quite a few details and features are being shown off. That includes a hidden piece of amber and the fact that this Triceratops is more flexible than you'd expect.

The new set is smaller and less staggering on display as 76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex, which is available now for £219.99 / $249.99 / €249.99. However, that size makes 77985 Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops considerably more affordable at £89.99 / $109.99 / €99.99 and much easier to find a spot for.

The minifigure isn't quite as iconic as Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant, but it's great for the Gerry Harding fans out there. 77985 Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops, either way, stands out among the summer 2026 models as something worth both your time and money.
