The second LEGO Ideas review of 2026 has added another project, bringing one of the most influential inventions in human history to life in brick form.
The first set to hit the 10,000-supporter mark in June is here, and Bricked1980's Functional Vintage Telescope has reached the milestone 11 months after it was submitted.
At approximately 600 pieces and standing 40cm high and 53cm long, the build replicates an antique brass telescope on a tripod. The set also features a light brick.
While the model is a visually stunning replica, it also includes working features. The rear section of the telescope can be disconnected, allowing builders to attach a printed scene behind the build's lens.
Bricked1980 has designed four graphics – two nautical-themed and two space-themed – some of which include references to classic LEGO sets.
When the lens is reattached, builders can activate a hidden light brick that illuminates the image inside the barrel. The feature allows the model to function like a real telescope, with the lens using a minifigure magnifying-glass element.
The telescope can also move freely on its mount and includes a removable lens cap.
This addition brings the total number of projects in the second 2026 review to 21. The round will remain open until September 7, and you can see the other 20 projects due to be considered in the table below.
