LEGO Minifigures Series 28 Animals offers another opportunity to upgrade LEGO Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s Spot minifigure.
This summer’s Bluey sets already presented one path to upgrading 76311 Miles Morales vs. the Spot’s villain minifigure, with Chloe the Dalmatian’s printed arms proving a pretty nice pairing with Spot’s head, torso and legs. But 71051 Series 28 Animals goes one step further with its own Dalmatian costume minifigure, which features printed arms with finer details and legs with front and side printing.
MiniSuperHeroesToday has now appropriated the arms and legs from Series 28’s Dalmatian and popped them on Spot to see if it’s a better upgrade than Chloe, and the answer is a resounding yes. The smaller blotches on the arms are a better match for Spot and the side leg printing elevates this Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse minifigure even further.
71051 Series 28’s Dalmatian is also a much more cost-effective way to upgrade Spot than the Bluey sets, given you’ll be able to pick up the doggy costume for just £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 when it debuts on January 1. And when all’s said and done it basically brings Spot in line with the detail afforded to other Spider-Verse characters in September’s 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures series.
Those blind-boxed Spider-Man characters will only be on shelves for a couple more weeks at most before being replaced by 71051 Series 28 Animals, so now is pretty much your last chance to pick them up at retail.
