Two more LEGO Botanicals sets are rumoured to be on the way in summer 2025, including a brand new Bonsai Tree and the theme’s first mainline 9+ model.
While the LEGO Group has debuted buildable flowers outside the 18+ range with the likes of 40460 Roses and 40524 Sunflowers, those have not been explicitly branded as part of the Botanical Collection (now LEGO Botanicals, as of 2025). But Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat reports that 10349 Happy Plants will arrive this summer with the age rating of 9+, coming in at 217 pieces for $19.99 in the US.
That places it in the ballpark of the smaller plants but in the numbering sequence of the other 18+ builds, suggesting the LEGO Group may be using the Botanicals rebranding – pushing the range beyond its LEGO Icons parent theme and into its own fully-fledged line – to bring those cheaper sets into the fold too. The packaging will be pretty interesting for this one as a result: will it use the same black box design for a 9+ set?

More predictable in that regard will be the also-rumoured 10348 Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree, which is said to be an 18+ set that includes 474 pieces for $59.99. 10281 Bonsai Tree was one of the first two sets to kickstart the LEGO Botanical Collection in 2021, is still available to this day and isn’t scheduled to retire until 2026 – so the new version will be available concurrently (if it exists as rumoured).
The red leaves would offer an immediate point of distinction, but what’s really interesting about this rumour is that 10348 Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree apparently includes nearly half the pieces of 10281 Bonsai Tree, which retails for £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 for 878 parts. Presumably (or hopefully, even) the newer set will use larger elements for its leaves to explain the disparity in price.
We can probably also expect 10348 Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree not to include an alternate colourway for its leaves right out of the box (like 10281 Bonsai Tree’s pink and green options) given the piece count, but we’ll find out one way or the other in the weeks and months ahead. Both of these new LEGO Botanicals 2025 sets are rumoured to launch in the summer.
