TV meteorologist presents weather in full LEGO minifigure costume

CBS Morning meteorologist Katie Nickolaou recently celebrated Halloween by presenting her regular weather forecast in a life-sized LEGO minifigure costume

The LEGO Group has been busy celebrating the spookiest of seasons once again this year, with 40697 Halloween Pumpkin GWP available earlier this month, the addition of four creepy LEGO Fortnite Islands and even tribute tombstones at LEGOLAND New York.

Not to be outdone, one LEGO fan working in the media has also recently shown her love for the brand and Halloween live on TV, thanks to an impressive cosplay outfit. CBS Morning meteorologist Katie Nickolaou presented the weather on October 31 for channel WLNS in a custom life-sized LEGO minifigure costume, much to the surprise of viewers.

Katie is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast meteorologist for the show and creator of the Fandom Forecast. For the recent Halloween weather forecast, the presenter stepped into the three-piece red, blue and yellow costume, which is similar in appearance to 40649 Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure.

Those tuning into the report expecting to see Katie herself instead got to watch the meteorologist stagger around in the life-sized LEGO minifigure outfit, which apparently took over 200 hours to build.

Katie later commented on X (formerly Twitter) that it was ‘really hard to breathe’ in the LEGO costume and that ‘it pulled apart at the seams just like a real minifigure.’ The presenter also hinted that she needs to build a map clicker for her LEGO minifigure outfit to hold, which may well make a return appearance next year.
