The LEGO Group has revealed three new exclusive sets coming in 2023, including a new addition to the Botanical Collection and a functioning piñata.
Images of the three sets have surfaced through the Pick a Brick section of LEGO.com, which has also just given us our first look at a trio of LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets arriving next year. Among this latest batch are a seasonal set in 40638 Heart Ornament, another addition to the Botanical Collection in 40646 Daffodils, and a colourful mini build in 40644 Piñata.
There are no prices or release dates listed for these sets at the time of writing, but it’s reasonably safe to expect they’ll debut in January – and none of them should break the bank. 40646 Daffodils looks to slot into the same price point as 40460 Roses, 40461 Tulips and 40524 Sunflowers, making it a more accessible entry point into the wider Botanical Collection than (for example) 10311 Orchid or 10289 Bird of Paradise.
40638 Heart Ornament is a relatively straightforward display piece, meanwhile, comprised of plates, hinges and floral elements in shades of red, pink and green. It’ll presumably be available in time for Valentine’s Day, and – given its size – shouldn't be extraordinarily expensive.
Finally, 40644 Piñata is a brilliantly colourful build that’s seemingly designed to split in two to spill its contents, just like the real thing. (You probably don’t want to hit this one with an actual bat, though.) Those contents are apparently 1x1 round tiles, which resemble sweets, but also shouldn’t be eaten. We’ll be very interested to see the age recommendation on this one…
All three of these sets will likely be available exclusively through LEGO.com and LEGO Stores from January. Keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for confirmation of their prices and release date.
