The most valuable LEGO Architecture skylines of all time

The most valuable LEGO Architecture skylines of all time

Recent LEGO Architecture rumours leave the door open for the return of skylines, so let’s take a look back at the current collection – and the most valuable cities to date.

LEGO Architecture is said to be debuting four brand new sets in 2026, the most in any single 12-month period since 2019. And the last time the 18+ theme did conjure up that many sets in one go, two of them were part of the skylines collection in 21043 San Francisco and 21044 Paris. But that long-running range of horizontal cityscapes hasn’t enjoyed a new release since 2022’s 21057 Singapore – suggesting it was done and dusted.

We now know the LEGO Group is happy to rotate its collections and subthemes in and out of the portfolio (just look at the return of the briefly-dormant LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection in 2025), so the door is open for it to return. If it does, you may feel compelled to pick up some of the previous sets you missed out on – but that’s where things get tricky, because some of these have skyrocketed in price since retiring.

Here’s a rundown of the most valuable LEGO Architecture skylines money can (currently) buy, based on average sold prices for new copies at BrickLink.

10 – 21057 Singapore

The most recently-retired LEGO Architecture skyline can still be picked up brand new for less than its retail price, so it’s an easy one to catch up on if you missed out on it at the LEGO Store. While 21057 Singapore originally asked for £54.99 for 827 pieces, recent copies have sold on BrickLink for an average price of just £35.73 new. You’ll need to factor in shipping too, but that’s still a fab deal in our books.

9 – 21051 Tokyo

One of the most visually arresting (read: colourful) skylines is holding firm at around the same price you’d originally have paid back in 2020, making 21051 Toyko another easy recommendation for anyone interested in building their collection. This is another one that initially retailed for £54.99, but has recently sold for £51.42 on average.

8 – 21043 San Francisco

A year before the LEGO Architecture team headed East to Japan’s capital, they ventured to the west coast of the US for 21043 San Francisco. This one’s really cool for the forced perspective employed for the Golden Gate Bridge, which may have contributed to its relatively minor jump in value post-retirement: where it originally retailed for £44.99 in the UK, the 565-piece set now fetches in the region of £55.97 at BrickLink.

7 – 21052 Dubai

The first set to prevent this list from just being in reverse chronological order of release, 21052 Dubai arrived on shelves alongside 21051 Tokyo in 2020 – but is now more valuable than 2019’s 21043 San Francisco at £61.56 on average at BrickLink. The 740-piece model first retailed for £54.99 in the UK.

6 – 21047 Las Vegas

The LEGO Group famously postponed and revised its Las Vegas skyline in the wake of the tragic Mandalay Bay hotel shooting, replacing that building with the Bellagio hotel for the final release. A handful of copies of the original made their way into the wild but are not available to buy at BrickLink (hence their absence on this list), while the updated version of this 2018 set is now worth an average price new of £66.78.

5 – 21039 Shanghai

Another 2018 release, 21039 Shanghai captivated Architecture fans for its unorthodox approach to the twisting Shanghai Tower. It’s one of the most distinct skylines in the entire collection, and while it originally retailed for £54.99, it’s recently sold for an average of £73.02 on the secondary market.

4 – 21032 Sydney

We’re really getting into expensive and valuable territory now. 21032 Sydney was among only the second wave of skylines, and as often happens with long-running collections it’s since shot up in price. The 361-piece model first retailed for only £29.99 eight years ago, but you’ll need to stump up an average of £113.62 on BrickLink if you want to add it to your LEGO Architecture collection today.

3 – 21033 Chicago

Another second-wave LEGO Architecture release, Chicago was picked for the skylines range presumably due to the city’s iconic and distinct buildings. The Sears and Hancock towers have both had their own individual Architecture sets, and are both featured again here, in a set that once cost just £44.99 in stores – but is now commanding a whopping £149.26 on average on the aftermarket.

2 – 21026 Venice

Marginally more valuable than Chicago is 21026 Venice, which over the past six months has sold for an average price of £154.25 on BrickLink – despite first retailing for only £24.99. This 2016 set was one of the first two LEGO Architecture skylines, and while it’s definitely showing its age compared to later releases, that’s not typically the sort of thing that matters to collectors who’ve gotta catch ‘em all.

1 – 21027 Berlin

21027 alt1 1024x695

The most valuable LEGO Architecture skyline of all time (at least as of April 2025) is 21027 Berlin, the other city in the first wave of sets back in 2016. This one also retailed for £24.99 at the time, but is now worth an incredible £170.90 new – which is a 583% increase on its original price. That’s not a bad return for anyone who’s somehow been holding on to a stash of these new-in-box for nine years.

There’s no confirmation yet that LEGO Architecture’s skylines will return in 2026, nor even that it really will be debuting double the number of sets than are already confirmed or rumoured for 2025. But even in the event the LEGO Group launches a new Architecture subtheme, it’s interesting to see just where the last one ended up…

The remaining skylines – 21028 New York City, 21034 London and 21044 Paris – are all still available to buy at retail price from LEGO.com.
