The most expensive LEGO sets of all time – May 2026

Where does Minas Tirith fit into the list?

The most expensive LEGO sets of all time – May 2026

11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith is one of the biggest LEGO sets of all time, but where does it rank amongst the most expensive LEGO sets released to date?

Coming in at a cool 8,278 pieces for £579.99 / $649.99 / €649.99, the first-ever LEGO Minas Tirith set has already smashed records as far as Middle-earth is concerned. The question now is: can it make an equally considerable dent in the wider pantheon of enormous (and enormously expensive) LEGO sets?

Here follows the 10 most expensive LEGO sets released to date based on their final RRP…

10 – 10307 Eiffel Tower

LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower featured 1 1024x576

Theme: LEGO Icons Pieces: 10,001 Price: £554.99 / $629.99 / €629.99 Release: Nov 25, 2022

Sorry, price-per-piece aficionados: it’s all downhill from here. 10307 Eiffel Tower is the second-biggest LEGO set of all time by piece count (at least at the time of writing), but is only the 10th-most-expensive set the LEGO Group has ever put out. This 149cm-tall behemoth was once scheduled to retire this summer, but is now hanging around into 2027, so there’s time yet to pick it up.

9 – 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser

Theme: LEGO Star Wars Pieces: 5,374 Price: £559.99 / $649.99 / €649.99 Release: Oct 1, 2023

A small hop, skip and jump up the price bands brings us to 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, the biggest LEGO Star Wars prequel trilogy UCS set so far. This one is tied with a couple of others on this list in the US and Europe, but sits slightly lower thanks to its (ever-so-slightly) cheaper UK price tag. It’s still not what you’d call cheap, mind.

=7 – 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise

LEGO Pokemon 72153 Venusaur Charizard and Blastoise featured

Theme: LEGO Pokémon Pieces: 6,838 Price: £579.99 / $649.99 / €649.99 Release: Feb 27, 2026

The flagship LEGO Pokémon set costs a pretty penny – or 57,999 of them, if we’re being precise. 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise is the only other 2026 release on this list besides Minas Tirith, and bundles together the three first-generation starter Pokémon at a scale few of us could have predicted when the LEGO Group first announced this licence in 2025.

=7 – 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith

LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings 11377 Minas Tirith 1

Theme: LEGO Icons Pieces: 8,278 Price: £579.99 / $649.99 / €649.99 Release: Jun 1, 2026

No LEGO 2026 release has yet pushed beyond this price barrier, as 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith comes in at exactly the same RRP as 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. For that price you’re getting 8,278 pieces and 10 minifigures (or 12 if you count the statues). It’s also the most expensive Middle-earth set yet…

6 – 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000

LEGO Technic 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 Lifestyle featured 1024x576

Theme: Technic Pieces: 2,883 Price: £579.99 / $699.99 / €679.99 Release: Aug 1, 2023

The most expensive LEGO Technic set to date (which has now retired) matched the RRP of Minas Tirith and the Pokémon starters in the UK, but was a little more expensive in the US and Europe – despite containing far fewer pieces. That’s largely thanks to the suite of electronic components packed into 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000’s box.

5 – 10294 Titanic

LEGO for Adults 10294 Titanic featured 3 1024x576

Theme: LEGO Icons Pieces: 9,090 Price: £589.99 / $679.99 / €679.99 Release: Nov 8, 2021

10294 Titanic may not be the most expensive LEGO set ever, but it is still the longest LEGO set of all time at 135cm, so it’s got that going for it. Plus, it’s the priciest set on this list that doesn’t hail from a galaxy far, far away – at least in the UK, by £10 over the Liebherr. You’ll never sing that.

4 – 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer

LEGO Star Wars 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer featured 1024x576

Theme: LEGO Star Wars Pieces: 4,784 Price: £614.99 / $699.99 / €699.99 Release: Oct 1, 2019

The second Ultimate Collector Series take on the Empire’s most iconic and intimidating capital ship cost £614.99 when it launched in 2019, which means 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer would cost just north of £800 if released today. That’s pretty expensive for only 4,784 pieces, but then many of those were pretty big – Minas Tirith this is not.

=2 – 75313 AT-AT

LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT AT 17 1024x683

Theme: LEGO Star Wars Pieces: 6,785 Price: £734.99 / $849.99 / €849.99 Release: Nov 26, 2021

Can you believe 75313 AT-AT is going on for five years old? It seems like just yesterday it was stomping on to shelves, making our wallets tremble in fear. The final RRP for this one (which received a small bump in 2022 thanks to the pandemic) goes toe-to-toe with another LEGO Star Wars heavyweight…

=2 – 75192 Millennium Falcon

LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon lifestyle featured resized 1024x576

Theme: Star Wars Pieces: 7,541 Price: £734.99 / $849.99 / €849.99 Release: Oct 1, 2017

The oldest LEGO Star Wars set still on shelves is finally due to retire at the end of 2026, and if that doesn’t change between now and December it’s fair to say 75192 Millennium Falcon has had a pretty good run. Up until last year it was the biggest LEGO Star Wars set of all time, and has aged incredibly well to say it’s nearly a decade old.

1 – 75419 Death Star

LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star featured 1024x576

Theme: LEGO Star Wars Pieces: 9,023 Price: £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99 Release: Oct 1, 2025

The most expensive LEGO set of all time is still LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star, and it’s tough to see how the LEGO Group could top this one from a price perspective – bigger sets have come and gone in other themes, but it’s the Star Wars tax that pushes this one up to a cool $1,000 in the US. Still, inflation will eventually have its way, and before you know it we’ll be swimming in four-figure LEGO sets…
