‘I’m honestly on cloud nine’: Star Wars actor reacts to being immortalised in LEGO set

A Star Wars actor has shared his emotional reaction to being immortalised as a LEGO minifigure for the first time.

Hemky Madera, who appears in the opening of The Mandalorian and Grogu, took to Instagram to describe how it felt seeing his character recreated in 75454 Imperial Remnant AT-AT with INT-4.

Although the set officially identifies him only as an Imperial Remnant Warlord, the minifigure is clearly Madera’s character Commander Barro, as seen in the film’s opening scene.

“Somehow I get to say that I’ve been immortalised as a LEGO minifigure,” the 49-year-old wrote. “As a kid, I could never have imagined this.”

He focused on the emotional weight of the moment, describing the experience as a surge of nostalgic joy.

“To see my character transformed into a LEGO figure is the kind of thing that makes your inner child jump up and down with pure joy,” Madera added. “I’m honestly on cloud nine.

“Being part of this incredible film was already a dream come true. Seeing this set and realizing that kids and collectors around the world will be building adventures with a little LEGO version of my character takes it to a whole new level.”

Though unnamed in the film, Commander Barro also appears as a hologram – also portrayed by Madera – in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, further connecting the character across the wider Star Wars storyline.

Madera, who began acting on Dominican Republic television in the early 2000s, is best known for his role as hitman Pote Gálvez in Queen of the South.

He also played Mr. Delmar, the bodega owner in Spider-Man: Homecoming, a fan-favourite cameo that continues to be widely recognised.

More recently, he appeared as a DEA agent in Season 3 of HBO drama Euphoria.

He thanked Lucasfilm and the LEGO Group, saying moments like this remind him why he loves storytelling, and added that his ‘inner child is absolutely mind blown’.

LEGO Star Wars 75454 Imperial Remnant AT-AT with INT-4 launches on August 1, priced at £139.99 / $159.99 / €159.99. The 1,453-piece set includes seven minifigures and is available for pre-order via LEGO.com.
