LEGO Spidey and His Amazing Friends March 2024 sets review

The LEGO Group’s partnership with Spidey and His Amazing Friends continues to offer some nice minifigures locked behind high prices and basic builds.

The Disney+ show Spidey and His Amazing Friends is such a natural fit for the LEGO Group’s 4+ theme, as the latest trio of sets to release for the Marvel property demonstrate. What is a juniorised interpretation of the characters and stories of Spider-Man of course makes for bright, colourful and equally-as-juniorised LEGO sets – a first experience of Spider-Man for young fans goes hand in hand perfectly with a first experience with LEGO.

As the March 2024 releases of 10794 Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters, 10793 Spidey vs. Green Goblin and 10792 Drill Spinner Vehicle each demonstrate, the partnership between LEGO and Spidey remains as strong as ever for the youngest builders out there. For everyone else (those of you old enough to read this), there’s not as much of a LEGO experience at hand, few play features to suitably enjoy, but still some little details here and there, plus some great minifigures.

10794 Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters

The biggest set coming this March in the Spidey and His Amazing Friends 4+ LEGO sets range is 10794 Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters, and it has a lot going on for the four included heroes and two villains to interact with. It’ll take 10 minutes to put everything together, but there are some fun printed elements, the mech is surprisingly versatile, and the minifigures are excellently designed, particularly Iron Man. Don’t be fooled by what’s good though – for just shy of £50 you are paying a premium and getting just 193 pieces back. Printed parts and minifigures are not cheap.

10793 Spidey vs. Green Goblin

Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 84 Minifigures: 3

Coming in at slightly better value is 10793 Spidey vs. Green Goblin, complete with two pretty unique vehicles and a little dock for the three included characters to battle around. This set has immediate playability for younger LEGO fans, but not a lot to keep anyone older that interested. The gold detailing on the Spider characters is an interesting new direction that for those who have played the most recent Spider-Man 2 video game may be of interest.

10792 Drill Spinner Vehicle

Price: £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 Pieces: 58 Minifigures: 2

This may also be a very simple build and offer very few parts, but 10792 Drill Spinner Vehicle is a set with a fairer price tag and two very appealing minifigures. Miles Morales with the gold detailing works very nicely here, while this version of Electro makes use of an exclusive hair and mask piece that is way too detailed for the rest of the set.

These LEGO Spidey and His Amazing Friends sets very much continue the bright, colourful and fun approach of previous waves from the junior theme – it’s for the youngest LEGO builders out there. There may be little details and minifigures here and there that’ll pull older fans in, but be aware that those are all you are paying for, and the bigger the sets the worse the value gets.
