The LEGO Winter Village is great and all, but sign me up for a Halloween Village

The LEGO Winter Village is great and all, but sign me up for a Halloween Village

The rumoured LEGO Icons line-up for the second half of 2026 includes what sounds on paper like the beginnings of a LEGO Halloween Village.

We have no additional information on 11383 Spooky Haunted House beyond what’s already rumoured, and that’s only the basic set details: the number and name just mentioned, a price tag of $109.99 / €109.99 and a piece count of 1,420. Oh, and a release date of September 2026. All of that should be taken with the customary grain of salt to which LEGO rumour veterans are accustomed, but… it’s also potentially quite telling.

Let’s think: which other LEGO sets typically release in autumn and come in at around 1,400 to 1,500 pieces for somewhere in the ballpark of $109.99? That would be the Winter Village Collection, of course, which debuts a new addition to its festive display like clockwork every October. Last year’s set broke the mould from a price-per-piece ratio thanks to its train track, but otherwise there’s a very clear parallel to draw between this line-up and 11383 Spooky Haunted House.

And if we are indeed drawing that parallel, who’s to say this couldn’t be the first set in a LEGO Halloween Village Collection? The LEGO Group is already au fait with the holiday, regularly churning out Halloween-themed store exclusives, promotional sets and gifts-with-purchase. Meanwhile, Monster Fighters’ 10220 Haunted House is one of the most revered retired sets around, and clearly inspired last year’s 31167 Haunted Mansion, which itself has proven pretty popular since launching.

There’s an appetite out there for spooky sets, and if we know one thing from the Modular Buildings Collection, Winter Village Collection, Gardens of the World and so on, it’s that there’s also a market for annual subthemes. That said, it’s worth considering 31167 Haunted Mansion for a moment longer, because if anything that set may actually be the fly in the ointment for this theory.

The Creator 3-in-1 model includes 736 pieces and retails for £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99, which is perhaps a little expensive for what’s in the box. 11383 Spooky Haunted House sounds like a much better deal from a price-per-piece ratio – and if it does match the format of the Winter Village Collection, we’d be looking at an open-backed building not unlike the style of 31167 Haunted Mansion (albeit with twice the number of elements).

31167 Haunted Mansion.

Debuting a potentially bigger, better and more cost-effective haunted house could cannibalise sales of the existing model, and in that scenario it’s easy to imagine the LEGO Group changing course for 11383 Spooky Haunted House. Maybe we’re looking at a microscale set? Some kind of artistic interpretation of the concept of a haunted house? Or maybe the set name isn’t final, and actually it’s going to be Dracula’s Castle. Hey, a man can dream.

This is of course all firmly in the realm of speculation for now, but the thought of a LEGO Halloween Village Collection kicking off in 2026 is pretty tantalising. Given this set isn’t rumoured to launch until September, though, we’re probably going to be waiting a little while to find out exactly what the LEGO Group has in store (if anything).
