See LEGO's new in-store Tile Studio in action

Here's a closer look at how the LEGO Group's new and expanded Tile Studio in-store feature works in person.

Now that Tile Studio has started to reach more LEGO stores around the world, members of the LEGO community are starting to share how it works. If you haven't had a chance to get down to your local store or it hasn't come to your region yet, here's how it looks in person, thanks to The Brick Post on Instagram, who tried out the Tile Studio feature on a trip to LEGO Store Birmingham.

The idea of Tile Studio is to allow LEGO shoppers to create their own printed LEGO tiles. You start off by selecting the tile and choosing the main background colour.

You can then pick from a number of different designs to put on the tile, including themed seasonal slogans. Seeing as these images were taken around Father's Day in the UK, there are various appropriate messages, but these will presumably be swapped out for other seasonal messages at different times of the year, as well as the option to personalise writing as well.

Tile Studio uses the same interface as the Minifigure Factory, so it should be fairly easy to adapt if you've used that feature before, but there will also be LEGO Store employees on hand to help you through it too.

You can then watch the tiles get printed and take them away with you on the day. Check out The Brick Post's own custom tiles below to see what's possible.
