LEGO Star Wars’ rumoured Ultimate Collector Series Jango Fett’s Starship needs returning features from 75060 Slave I, but one might be dubious.
Reliable Instagram user maxbautde’s latest rumour is for a UCS set that might be notably familiar. 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship is rumoured to cost €239.99 and be released on May 1, 2025, arriving one decade after 75060 Slave I – a UCS set of the same ship from a different era.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see the LEGO Star Wars design team use the 2015 model as a foundation for the rumoured set, which has yet to be officially confirmed. There are a few features from 75060 Slave I that need to come back, despite differences between the two versions of the ship.
The huge windshield

75060 Slave I features a massive windshield element that is perfect for both versions of the starship but has not been seen in a set since 70828 Pop-Up Party Bus in 2019.
Provided it hasn’t been retired, this element needs to come back for the rumoured 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship. There’s no better alternative currently available that has a distinct curve.
A more dynamic display stand

75060 Slave I has a sizable display stand to pose the ship as if it is mid-flight but LEGO display stands have come a long way since 2015, including in 76193 The Guardians’ Ship.
Rather than bringing the same stand back, it might be time to consider an upgrade to this stand design as well. Incorporating enough movement to pose the ship in landing or flight modes would be ideal, even with a mechanism to seamlessly switch from one to the other without leaving the stand.
Unfolding weapons

75060 Slave I has a few unfolding weapons towards the nose of the craft and while Boba added much to the ship during his time, these don’t appear to have been upgrades he made.
These were notably fun play features for a UCS LEGO Star Wars set and it would be great to see them return, though it's not the only potential for a play feature in the rumoured 2025 set.
Interior access (for minifigures)

Another fun feature of 75060 Slave I was the presence of an unfolding door towards the back (or bottom) of the ship that simulated interior access for minifigures.
There wasn’t actually any interior to access and it’s unlikely that a new UCS depiction of the starship would change that, but losing this function means losing some of the whimsy of 75060 Slave I and the potential to pose minifigures.
The flipping cockpit

While 75060 Slave I has a rotating cockpit for landing and take-off modes, Jango’s version of the ship had the cockpit locked in place, pointing up during landing and forward during take-off. It’s believed via official sources that this was to have as much interior space as possible.
Boba disagreed when he took ownership of the ship, adding the rotating function, hence why it appears as such in 75060 Slave I. The LEGO Group could opt to go either way depending on the level of artistic liberty they’re comfortable with. Alternatively, the cockpit could be accurately locked but more interior space might be expected as a result. Maybe not as much as 75331 The Razor Crest, but an extra room connecting to an opening door leading outside at least.
