More than two dozen LEGO Marvel sets are leaving shelves for good this year, but with Black Friday right around the corner, which are worth targeting before 2025 is out?
Next up in our retiring LEGO set guides – following Creator, DC, Technic, Star Wars, Ideas and more – is LEGO Marvel, a theme that will see 26 sets gone for good by the end of 2025. Some of those are already starting to sell out at LEGO.com and through select third-party retailers, so this guide is written with that context in mind.
For each Marvel LEGO set listed here you’ll find a recommendation from the Brick Fanatics team: buy it as soon as you can, wait for a Black Friday deal, or safely skip it altogether. If we recommend buying it now, it means it’s not worth risking missing out if it sells out ahead of Black Friday. If we advise waiting for a deal, it’s probably not one you’re going to lose sleep over if you do miss out.
Dive in below, and don’t forget that you can keep track of every retiring LEGO set over on our dedicated page.
10789 Spider-Man’s Car and Doc Ock

The first of three LEGO Spidey and His Amazing Friends sets retiring in 2025,
Verdict: Skip
10794 Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters

These 4+ sets don’t necessarily have a tonne to offer older builders (as you’d expect), but there are some interesting minimalist minifigures among them if you’re so inclined. From a build and value perspective, though, there’s very little to recommend in 10794 Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters for the masses.
Verdict: Skip
11199 Team Spidey Dino Crawler Rescue

If you’re going to pick up any of these Spidey and His Amazing Friends sets, 11199 Team Spidey Dino Crawler Rescue is probably the one to aim for, purely for answering the question we’ve all been asking: what if Spider-Man characters were dinosaurs? Ghostosaurus and Dino-Rhino alone are almost enough to justify the price here… but not quite. Grab it on sale if you want to add a little dino magic to your Marvel collection.
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76178 Daily Bugle

The headline superhero set leaving shelves this year is 2021’s 76178 Daily Bugle, the first (and possibly still the best) LEGO Marvel modular building. Unfortunately, it’s already sold out permanently at LEGO.com in the UK – but you might still be able to find it at third-party retailers. It’s still available at the official online store in other regions, including the US and Germany, but if you haven’t picked this one up yet don’t wait for Black Friday – that might be too late…
Verdict: Buy now
76191 Infinity Gauntlet

Another veteran LEGO Marvel release, 76191 Infinity Gauntlet has been around long enough (and is affordable enough) that you’ve probably got one hand on it already. But if not, time is running short: it’s sold out in the US and temporarily out of stock in the UK at LEGO.com. This one is worth it for the sheer number of drum-lacquered gold elements alone, and given it’s already disappearing now is probably the time to snap your fingers and buy it.
Verdict: Buy now
76261 Spider-Man Final Battle

One factor well worth considering when weighing up any retiring LEGO set is whether or not the LEGO Group is likely to remake it somewhere down the line. We’ll probably get another Spider-Man car (hey, there’s one in 2026), but it’s tough to say we’ll ever get another set based on the climax of Spider-Man: No Way Home. One of the better Marvel movies in recent years has one of the better LEGO Marvel playsets in 76261 Spider-Man Final Battle, though it is one that gets discounted frequently, so you can probably wait for a deal here.
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76276 Venom Mech Armor vs. Miles Morales

Remember what we were just saying about LEGO Marvel sets that will inevitably be repeated? That goes double for
Verdict: Skip
76277 War Machine Mech Armor

Like Iron Man, War Machine feels a little more suited to a mech than most Marvel characters, and 76277 War Machine Mech Armor looks pretty neat on the whole. But few of us will remiss missing out on yet another Marvel mech, so best put this budget elsewhere.
Verdict: Skip
76279 Spider-Man Race Car & Venom Green Goblin

If you’re collecting Venomized characters, Green Goblin here is currently exclusive to this set (unless you were able to snag him in the LEGO Marvel magazine). But that’s about the only reason we can think of to recommend
Verdict: Skip
76280 Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle

Verdict: Wait for a deal
76281 X-Men X-Jet

The LEGO Group revisits the X-Men so infrequently that you might imagine we’d be recommending snapping up 76281 X-Men X-Jet while the going’s good. But with 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion still on shelves, the insultingly high price of this set and the X-Men’s imminent return to the MCU, there are better options right now for these characters – and probably will be in the relatively near future, too.
Verdict: Skip
76282 Rocket & Baby Groot

Buildable LEGO characters are famously hit and miss, and for all its strengths
Verdict: Skip
76285 Spider-Man’s Mask

Sometimes the simplest concepts make for the best LEGO sets, and so it goes with
Verdict: Buy now
76286 Guardians of the Galaxy: The Milano

Here’s one major exception to the redesign rule, because while odds are good that we’ll see another Milano somewhere down the line, there are no guarantees that it will be as brilliant as
Verdict: Buy now
76287 Iron Man with Bike and The Hulk

At face value, 76287 Iron Man with Bike and The Hulk is just another 4+ set with a terribly un-catchy name, and an easy skip for most of us. But if you’re the type to collect every single variation on a theme, it’s worth noting that both minifigures here are technically exclusive – even if not terribly interesting. One for those people at its relatively low price, but everyone else can look elsewhere.
Verdict: Skip
76288 Iron Man & Iron Legion vs. Hydra Soldier

LEGO Marvel doesn’t really do battle packs in the same way as Star Wars, but
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76289 Thor vs. Surtur Construction Figure

The roster of buildable Marvel characters is expansive enough that Surtur wouldn’t usually get much of a look-in, but this Thor: Ragnarok set is actually surprisingly fun – and pretty unique as Infinity Saga sets go, in execution if not concept. It’s not bad value at full price, but a sale would go a long way to making
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76290 The Avengers vs. The Leviathan

Whether you’re looking for a couple more Leviathans to round out your 76269 Avengers Tower display or just want a slice of the original Avengers movie for your Marvel shelf,
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76291 The Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron

Verdict: Buy now
76292 Captain America vs. Red Hulk Battle

It’s hard to say that anyone needs
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76295 The Avengers Helicarrier

Marvel’s first midi-scale set may have commanded a high price, but it hasn’t stopped it selling out permanently at LEGO.com in the UK and US. 76295 The Avengers Helicarrier is still available in some regions – including parts of Europe and Australia – at the time of writing, but chances are it won’t be around much longer. Even then though it’s tough to suggest shelling out full price for, so maybe hang on a little bit longer until LEGO Insiders Weekend and Black Friday…
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76296 New Captain America Construction Figure

Even if you really like Marvel’s buildable figures, and even though 76296 New Captain America Construction Figure is 30% off at LEGO.com in the UK and Europe and 20% off in the US, a set based on the new and so far much less iconic version of Captain America is still a tough sell. Save your money for Spidey, at least…
Verdict: Skip
76298 Iron Spider-Man Construction Figure

A superhero much better suited to this style of LEGO set, 76298 Iron Spider-Man Construction Figure is an easier recommendation than Captain America, although ironically not at full price – and this is the one not currently discounted at the official online store. See if you can score it elsewhere during Black Friday, but otherwise don’t worry too much – chances are it’s not going to rise in value too much once retired.
Verdict: Wait for a deal
76307 Iron Man vs. Ultron

The LEGO Group slowly seems to be cottoning on to what’s going to make its mechs desirable for hardcore LEGO fans as well as kids, and that’s exclusive minifigures.
Verdict: Buy now
76308 Spider-Man vs. Anti-Venom

While Ultron has yet to appear in any other Marvel sets, Anti-Venom returned in this summer’s 76317 Peter Parker's Apartment, dramatically decreasing the desirability of
Verdict: Skip
76310 Iron Man Car & Black Panther vs. Red Hulk

Looking for Red Hulk in minifigure form rather than as a bigfig?
Verdict: Skip
