These retired LEGO Marvel minifigures could be making a comeback in 2026

The first word on LEGO Spider-Man: Brand New Day sets is here, and with it the potential for a handful of retired Marvel minifigures to make a comeback this year.

Fresh rumours from lego_minecraft_goat point to a trio of LEGO Marvel sets hooked to this summer’s follow-up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, which arrives in cinemas on July 31. One of those is said to be a buildable Spider-Man figure, while the other two appear to be playsets titled 76349 Prisoner Transport and 76350 Spider-Man vs. Hulk at the Office Building.

While there’s nothing beyond those set names (and prices and piece counts) to go on right now, what little we know so far about Spider-Man: Brand New Day paves the way for some potentially very interesting minifigure selections. Here are some rare and retired characters who could be on the cards for 2026 – but remember that this is all just speculation…

Punisher

LEGO Marvel 76178 Daily Bugle 82a

Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as the Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, albeit with a slightly different tone to previous outings (MCU head honcho Kevin Feige says to expect less gratuitous violence). And while once upon a time a Punisher minifigure would have seemed completely out of reach, the LEGO Marvel team managed to bring a comic book variant of the character to 76178 Daily Bugle in 2021.

The original LEGO Marvel modular building retired at the end of 2025, however, so the only way to add Punisher to your collection now is via the aftermarket, where you can expect to pay upwards of £18 (plus shipping). But given Marvel hasn’t been trying to keep his role in Brand New Day under wraps, it feels like a pretty safe bet that the Punisher would be fair game for a minifigure in the movie’s tie-in wave without fear of spoiling things.

Scorpion

Michael Mando has also confirmed that he’s returning to the MCU in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, once again assuming the role of Mac Gargan – better known as Scorpion. He appeared briefly in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, albeit without any of his arachnid trappings, and alongside Tombstone could be one of the main villains of the upcoming movie.

While a new MCU-inspired Punisher minifigure would probably hew reasonably closely to the previous comic book version, it’s fair to expect an MCU Scorpion to be wildly different to LEGO Marvel’s one and only Scorpion minifigure. That bright green comics-inspired character appeared in two sets, 76057 Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle and 10754 Spider-Man vs. Scorpion Street Showdown, and now commands around £15 new on BrickLink.

Daredevil

While – if you ask us – the previous two characters feel like a lock for the LEGO Spider-Man: Brand New Day sets, the chances of seeing Daredevil again are probably slim to none. Charlie Cox has repeatedly denied he’ll be suiting up again for the Spidey fourquel, and while Marvel has form for asking its cast members to lie to avoid spoilers – see Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home – that would only suggest Daredevil is meant to be a surprise for audiences.

And in that case, it’s unlikely the production would be happy for the LEGO Group to spoil it all by popping a new Daredevil minifigure in its tie-in sets. Still, we’ve included him here just in case, and not least because – like Punisher – he’s also currently exclusive to the retired 76178 Daily Bugle, and likewise costs around £18 on the aftermarket.

And the rest

Pretty much guaranteed to appear from the set names alone (if these rumours prove true) are Spider-Man – obvs – and Hulk, but also on the cast list for Spider-Man: Brand New Day are Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds and Sadie Sink, who’s currently rumoured to be playing either Mayday Parker or Jean Grey. All of those characters could be on the cards for these sets, though Sink’s presence will likely hinge on whether Marvel reveals her role ahead of the movie’s release.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in cinemas on July 31, while the rumoured tie-in LEGO sets are said to drop in June. Check out the full LEGO Marvel 2026 line-up below.
