New LEGO Technic 1:8 supercar rumoured for 2026

The LEGO Group’s biennial Technic supercar subtheme is said to be continuing apace this summer, arriving alongside a recolour of a January 2026 set.

LEGO Technic’s 1:8-scale supercars have dropped steadily every other summer since 2016’s 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and lego_minecraft_goat reports in a new Instagram Story that 42232 may be another instalment in the decade-old subtheme. It’s said to retail for $449.99 in the US and €449.99 in Europe, matching the price of recent entries 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 and 42172 McLaren P1 (pictured up top), and may launch in July, but little else is known about it at this stage.

The range so far also includes 42083 Bugatti Chiron and 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, and between those five cars spans five different manufacturers and five different LEGO colours: bright orange, bright blue, lime green, red and flame yellowish orange. It’s anyone’s guess as to what could follow this summer, but RacingBrick has thrown around a few ideas already, such as the Aston Martin Valhalla and Pagani Utopia.

Elsewhere, January’s orange and black 42222 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is believed to be getting a recoloured version this summer in 42241 Green Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Hypercar. Unsurprisingly, it’s rumoured to retail for the same price as its counterpart at $64.99 in the US and €64.99 in Europe. There’s no word on a piece count yet, but previous LEGO Technic recolours have matched each other one for one.
