My October 1 LEGO shopping list: Wednesday on a Wednesday

My October 1 LEGO shopping list: Wednesday on a Wednesday

Despite my disinterest in LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star, October is an exciting month for my LEGO 2025 plans, thanks to Wednesday.

To be transparent, 21361 Gizmo would have topped this list had I not received it for review from the LEGO Group. You can find out what I thought about the LEGO Gremlins set by clicking here. Since I've already got the set in hand, it's not exactly at the top of my October 1 shopping list, but there are still two models that I'm targeting early next month. That doesn't include 75419 Death Star, and you can see my thoughts on the expensive build by clicking here.

Like many LEGO fans around the world, I'm eager to start building 72046 Game Boy, and since it hasn't appeared in stores early in the UK, it remains at the top of my October 1 shopping list. I don't own this specific early Game Boy model, but I still have my old Game Boy Colour. I'm excited to display the LEGO model next to the nostalgic device, and I love seeing more LEGO The Legend of Zelda. I have yet to dive into 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, and this set will perfectly fill that gap in my collection in the meantime.

I've also loved watching the second season of Wednesday on Netflix. While I have no genuine interest in mini-dolls (I appreciate them and their audience, but I prefer the unique caricature of minifigures), there's one LEGO Wednesday set that I can't ignore. 76785 Thing's Apartment is a personal must-have without any kind of discount. Thing has been one of my favourite characters in both seasons of the series, and I'm pleased to see a set dedicated to the disembodied hand.

I adore the decision to give Thing his own space, and it has been expertly recreated in the 828-piece 76785 Thing's Apartment. The unfolding, multi-level living space will fit perfectly on my desk, and I'm eager to customise the interior with more items that Thing might have collected and displayed. I appreciate the inclusion of the Enid mini-doll, and scaled Thing and chest, too, but the main contents of the model are more than enough to entice me into a purchase early next month.

The new offers on the official online store consequently mean that I should score 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost by picking up both of these builds on October 1. The seasonal gift-with-purchase was similarly high on my list of October LEGO priorities. I enjoy the execution of 40697 Halloween Pumpkin, and the two sets will pair perfectly as part of my annual Halloween decorations.

Similar to Rachael, I've got my eyes set on 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker for its quirky take on a classic Star Wars vehicle, and for its value as a fun Christmas decoration when I finally move into my first home. I don't like getting into the Christmas spirit before Halloween, and I'm using my bias as an excuse to wait on this festive LEGO Star Wars set until later in the year – a decision that my wallet is certain to appreciate.

Otherwise, my plans for LEGO shopping later in October include picking up either 75691 Glinda & Elphaba Bookends or 75685 Emerald City Wall Art for those long-awaited Wicked minifigures. That final trailer definitely increased my excitement for the sequel, and I'll be needing at least some of those minifigures before the end of the musical saga lands on the big screen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for decent savings on either before the new movie arrives.
