More details on mysterious ‘Special Editions’ 2026 LEGO theme surface

More details have surfaced on the mysterious ‘Special Editions’ LEGO theme rumoured for 2026, including the identity of one of its three Formula 1 helmets.

Eleven sets are currently rumoured to be debuting next year under a theme codenamed Special Editions, and while we still don’t have a definite identity for the range, fresh reports from BrickTap hint that the binding trait may indeed be sports. Three of those 11 sets are already said to be buildable Formula 1 driver helmets, and the first of those is now believed to belong to Lewis Hamilton.

There's no word on which of his helmets the set will depict, however – while the other two sets in the range remain shrouded in mystery. They might also pull on current drivers, or they could look back to iconic personalities from decades past, as the LEGO Icons Formula 1 cars have with Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell. That’s assuming they really are on the way as rumoured, of course.

BrickTap also claims that the remaining sets will be based around football (or soccer if you’re reading this in the US), potentially resurrecting the LEGO Sports theme of the early 2000s. Whether these models will be closer to those playable Subbuteo-style kits or the more recent trio of microscale stadiums – Old Trafford, Camp Nou and Santiago Bernabéu – has yet to be confirmed.

Of course, none of these details should be treated as confirmed at this point anyway. Best to wait for official reveals from the LEGO Group for that.
