The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer compared to LEGO sets

A new The Mandalorian and Grogu movie trailer has just been released, hot on the heels of the film's LEGO Star Wars sets' reveal last week.

As May 22 continues to get closer, the Star Wars team has released a new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, finally lending us some insight into what the film is actually about. From surprise returning characters (we're not talking about Zeb either) and scenes that would be perfect for a LEGO set to the source behind some of the official models, click the video below to watch the new trailer now.

The new, yellow Razor Crest is prominent in the new trailer, allowing for a much clearer comparison between the source and 75447 The Razor Crest as was possible with previous footage. The LEGO set has an accurate level of yellow in its colour scheme, though it is far too small to be accurately-sized.

The key art provided for 75447 The Razor Crest also matches up notably well with scenes from the trailer. Also featured in the trailer is a much better look at the Anzellan-sized speeder, though there's no sign of the inspiration behind 75445 Anzellan Starship.

There's no such speeder in the upcoming LEGO Star Wars set, but we can see similarities in the design and colour scheme of the speeder and the LEGO starship. It's unfortunately a missed opportunity include no such miniature speeder in the official model, but it hopefully won't be long until fans make their own.

While we already saw Grogu with his armour in the most recent season of The Mandalorian, the trailer provides an even better look at Grogu's new outfit. It's as accurate as you would hope, even down to the satchel holding some blue macarons.

That's about all there is in the trailer to compare to the five LEGO Star Wars sets based on The Mandalorian and Grogu (as well as the BrickHeadz). We do get a brief glimpse at the source behind 75460 New Republic X-Wing Starfighter, as well as confirmation that the modified N-1 starfighter is coming back in the film, though probably briefly.

The rest of the fresh footage at least provides us with other moments that would have been great for LEGO sets and some surprise returning characters. There's an off-road mouse droid that would have fun as a physical model, as well as a Star Wars food truck, which is practically begging for some kind of special promotional product. Grogu's new hover pram with the folding handles is also notably absent from any of the sets.

The returning characters include not only The Twins from The Book of Boba Fett, but also Embo from The Clone Wars. The only Hutt figure currently available is Jabba in 75397 Jabba's Sail Barge, and Embo's only minifigure can be found in 2011's 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship.

The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in cinemas on May 22, and the LEGO Star Wars sets will precede it, split across April 1 and April 26.
