Maldives Water Villa takes a dip in the third LEGO Ideas review of 2025

The serene beauty of the Maldivian archipelago has been lovingly recreated as a LEGO Ideas submission that’s just reached the 10K supporters’ mark.

Some fan-made LEGO Ideas submissions just seem tailormade for the theme, fusing a passion for a particular subject with some impressive building techniques and a real attention-to-detail. That certainly seems to be the case when it comes to Maldives Water Villa, a 2,967-piece model that designer MMG-Designs describes as being, ‘a journey of love and a testament to the transformative power of creativity.’

Measuring 25cm tall, 45cm wide and 31cm deep, Maldives Water Villa is comprised of two wooden beach houses that sit on top of a crystal clear blue ocean base. Detachable roof sections and an upper floor means the villas are fully accessible and can even be removed from the scene altogether.

The exterior of Maldives Water Villa features lush greenery, a private outdoor pool, BBQ, sun lounger and a ‘Just married’ sign, as well as a selection of marine life in the water below in the shape of fish, crab and lobster figures.

Rounding out the LEGO Ideas submission is a line-up of seven minifigures that include two guests, a chef, a juice waiter and three members of the island staff to attend to the needs of their customers.

We’ll find out if Maldives Water Villa has what it takes to become a real brick-bult tropical paradise when the results of the third LEGO Ideas review of 2025 are revealed early next year.
