Free LEGO World Play Day vehicle make and take event next week

LEGO Stores in the UK will be hosting an event to give away a free brick-built vehicle next week, as part of this year’s World Play Day celebrations.

To celebrate World Play Day last year, the LEGO Group gave away a free Brick Bag promotional set that contained a selection of random pieces aimed at inspiring young minds. While the global event previously took place on October 12, 2023, this year’s celebrations appear to have been moved forward by a few months.

The LEGO Group has announced that the company will be marking World Play Day 2024 on June 11 with a special LEGO Store giveaway in the UK. Visitors who make it to their local LEGO Stores on that date will be able to pick up a free LEGO vehicle to construct then and there or take the model home with them.

The small black, white, red and grey set is missing its own unique minifigure (which is a shame) and only one will be given out per person. A limited quantity of the build will be available on the day, on a first come first serve basis, while stocks last.

The LEGO Group has yet to announce any additional activities centred around World Play Day 2024, despite a number of online and in-person events taking place last year. It’s possible that more may be revealed soon, so we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

In 2023, the LEGO Superpower Academy was opened in London’s Shoreditch, bringing families together to solve a range of fun challenges, with play spaces opening in New York, a Play Street Mall in Sydney, Australia and many other activities.
