Both 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 and 42207 Ferrari SF-24 release on March 1, 2025, but which of the two LEGO Technic sets will take pole position?
Serious Formula 1 fans will be gearing up for a busy and potentially expensive weekend ahead, with multiple LEGO racing sets speeding into view on March 1. Included in that starting grid line-up are a pair of LEGO Technic vehicles vying for collectors’ cash in the shape of 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 and 42207 Ferrari SF-24.
Both 1:8 scale sets come in at identical £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 price points and there's less than a 300-piece difference between the models. The question therefore is, if you had to choose just one of the LEGO Technic sets to purchase, which build will ultimately prove to be the championship car?

It’s certainly a tough contest, with 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 and 42207 Ferrari SF-24 each being extremely tempting purchases for those with plenty of cash to burn. There are definitely many similarities between how the two cars are built, but each offers more than just colour-swapped bodywork and sponsor stickers.
For many, the flashier appeal of 42207 Ferrari SF-24 would seem to be an obvious choice. It’s a set that builds on the work of 2024’s 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance, but uses advances in design, construction techniques and model ideas to take things to the next level.

The quality and accuracy of the LEGO Technic set shines through in every stage of the building experience to perfectly capture the look, feel and attitude of the real-life winning vehicle.
On the other hand, 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 is its own intricate, detailed and accurate LEGO Technic model too. In terms of value for money, the set also bests 42207 Ferrari SF-24 by delivering 1,639 pieces for the same price as its rival’s 1,361-piece count.

From its solid structure and precise design to the car’s eye-catching aero rake and working features, 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 proves itself to be a thoroughly satisfying building experience.
However, if we had to choose just one set to drive away with this weekend, it would have to be 42207 Ferrari SF-24, at a push. From the striking red bodywork and busy interior to the many angles and curves that just scream Ferrari, the LEGO Technic model is a vibrant, iconic and enthralling build, one that just barely pips 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 to the post.
