Take a closer look at LEGO Technic 42217 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

LEGO Technic’s summer 2025 line-up will be bolstered by 42217 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, with the eye-catching car due to arrive next month.

Builders had their first look at this summer’s LEGO Technic wave this week, with eight models racing into view in the months to come. That line-up includes a selection of new vehicles, from supercars such as 42208 Aston Martin Valkyrie to the sturdy construction machine that is 42215 Volvo EC500 Hybrid Excavator.

However, buried in yesterday’s full LEGO May reveals was another upcoming addition to the theme, 42217 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Coming in at 732 pieces for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99, the LEGO Technic build will arrive online and in stores from June 1, 2025.

Measuring over 8cm high, 27cm long and 14cm wide, 42217 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is essentially a colour-swapped version of the previously-released 42205 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, right down to the car’s stickered details.

The good news is that 42217 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will retain all of the functionality and features of the previous model, including a brick-built 8-cylinder engine and differential, roof knob to control the steering and opening doors and hood.

The LEGO Technic set also boasts a vibrant blue colour scheme, one that should contrast well with 42205 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, for those who want to add both models to their collections.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen colour-swapped iterations of LEGO Technic sets being launched. For instance, 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica raced into view in 2023, closely followed by its striking counterpart last year, 42196 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica Orange.

LEGO Technic fans will be able to drive away with 42217 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray from June 1, 2025, priced at £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99.
