LEGO Technic 42228 McLaren MCL39 has been revealed, recreating last year's Formula 1 championship-winning car at 1:8 scale.
The LEGO Group has rendered McLaren's Formula 1 car from 2025, when it won both the Constructors and World Championships, in LEGO Technic's 1:8 scale, matching last year's releases, 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 and 42207 Ferrari SF-24. 42228 McLaren MCL39 is made up of 1,675 pieces, retailing for £199.99 in the UK, $229.99 in the US, and €229.99 in Europe when it launches on March 1.
LEGO Technic sets at this scale are known for their complex builds recreating intricate engineering feats, and 42228 McLaren MCL39 is no different. Working brick-built versions of the steering, suspension, gearbox and differential have been included, as well as authentic DRS on the rear wing.
All of this is packaged up in the McLaren's papaya and black livery, topped off with Google Chrome and Mastercard sponsor placements, among others. You can remove the engine cover once built to explore the V6 engine.
LEGO Technic 42228 McLaren MCL39 will be available to buy from March 1, priced at £199.99 in the UK, $229.99 in the US, and €229.99 in Europe.
