LEGO Star Wars designers explain their January sets

We sat down with three LEGO Star Wars designers to hear them discuss their January 2026 sets and the LEGO Star Wars theme at large.

No one knows a LEGO set better than its designer, and Brick Fanatics' Matthew had the chance to sit down with not one, not two, but three LEGO Star Wars designers to discuss their January releases. Henrik Andersen (designer of many sets but here discussing 75452 BB-8), Niels Bundesen (designer of 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser among various others), and Jackson Hughes (who worked on 75440 AT-AT) took time for this interview at LEGO Fan Media Days last year.

From discussing a lesser-known LEGO Star Wars in-joke that was news to several members of the Brick Fanatics team to sharing how the relationship between the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm works when it comes to easter eggs, there are a ton of tidbits about this trio of sets and the wider Star Wars theme to discover.
