LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader bust improves on helmet decor

An early review of the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader bust has revealed an improvement over the now-retired helmet set, eschewing the stickers.

We're just a few weeks away from the launch of 75439 Darth Vader Bust and the LEGO Star Wars Bust Collection, and the first review for the duo of bust builds is now live. This has confirmed a big change for the bust compared to the helmet beyond the overall scale, and it will please all enthusiasts.

It's easy to draw comparisons between the new bust build and the retired 75304 Darth Vader Helmet. Both are display models based on the character and depict the same helmet at different scales. That retired LEGO Star Wars set featured four stickers that were not easy to place in line up, as stated in our review.

Lining up the mouth grill stickers in particular was a challenge, since they needed to be in the right place to match the appearance of the character as closely as possible. 75439 Darth Vader Bust improves this by making those same designs prints instead of stickers, removing any kind of challenge that would come from applying them correctly.

It's a remarkable improvement that is sure to be appreciated, but it's not perfect. The new mouth grill design depicts the helmet as having five of those silver bars, when it only has four in the films. The helmet model accurately portrayed this, but the bust does not. It's not a colossal mistake, but it is something to note alongside the use of prints rather than stickers in the new set

Either way, both of these new busts will debut the collection on April 26, 2026. 75439 Darth Vader Bust is the more expensive of the duo at £44.99 / $49.99 / $49.99.
