LEGO Star Wars has seen its fair share of speeders, but it's safe to say that none have been quite like 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder. It's an oddly colourful model for LEGO Star Wars paired with two exclusive and appealing minifigures, only slightly let down by some regional pricing. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all though is that the inaccuracies in this model are only a strength.

Any splash of colour in LEGO Star Wars is welcome, and that's a big part of the appeal of 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder. It opts for a bright colour scheme alongside the usual brown, grey and black hues. The speeder itself is also drastically different to those before it, mixing in part of a podracer for an oversized and unique look that stands out from the crowd in the best possible way.

The LEGO Star Wars designers have made smart use of the build and its removable parts. This includes the ability to detach the seat from the engine, in case you want to make a full podracer using the original engine. You can also remove the top of the engine to reveal a space for the spare accessories, including either Cobb Vanth's helmet or hair, depending on what you have equipped. The accessory elements found in this space include a printed blue milk element, leaning into the whimsical side of LEGO Star Wars.

The design of the speeder matches that of the vehicle seen in The Mandalorian Season 2, but that's where tie-ins to a specific series end... although we'd argue this is only to the set's benefit. Cobb Vanth also appeared in The Book of Boba Fett, where he had a showdown with Cad Bane. At this point, Vanth had given the damaged armour to Din Djarin, leaving him in just a red jumper. Despite this, the minifigure in 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder is wearing that armour and facing off against Cad Bane.

This LEGO Star Wars set is not accurate to either series Cobb Vanth appears in, instead mashing the two together, but it's better this way. Basing it entirely on The Mandalorian Season 2 would have meant no Cad Bane. Taking inspiration from the Book of Boba Fett would have meant a different and arguably worse minifigure. This way, we're getting the best of both worlds, or series.

Speaking of the minifigures, Cobb Vanth is depicted in Boba Fett's salvaged armour, with plenty of damage to make the minifigure different enough from standard Boba Fett with the helmet equipped. It's a great minifigure with a nice level of detail, including arm and leg printing. The new face decoration is especially appealing, depicting both sides of the sheriff.

Cad Bane is also brand new, with slight tweaks to his appearance in 75323 The Justifier, but not so many that you'll feel like you need both of these minifigures. His inclusion in an expensive LEGO Star Wars model is welcome and he's generally quite a rare character either way.

With two arm-printed minifigures, an unusually colourful speeder and inaccuracy for the sake of quality, 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder has everything going for it. Unfortunately, not all regional prices are made equally. While £24.99 / €29.99 for the build is fair, the US's total of $34.99 is going to be harder to justify. It might be better for stateside fans to wait for a small sale on this build.

In other regions, there's enough exclusivity in 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder for fans to thoroughly enjoy this more affordable LEGO Star Wars model starting next month.

Our honest opinion: 75437 Cobb Vanth's Speeder is one of the best inaccurate LEGO Star Wars sets we've seen so far, only partially let down by some regional pricing.
