LEGO Spider-Man figures are getting bigger and pricier

A brand-new LEGO Spider-Man figure is swinging onto the scene this June, greatly increasing the piece count and price compared to prior releases.

76346 Spider-Man Hero Figure is one of the three LEGO Spider-Man: Brand New Day sets launching in June, recreating the titular character as a posable buildable figure.

It's far from a new concept for the theme and acts as a homecoming for the line, bringing buildable LEGO Spider-Man sets back to their origins after two Iron Spider outings. You might have thought that there's no way the original LEGO Spider-Man figure needed to be any bigger, but the LEGO Group thought otherwise.

76346 Spider-Man Hero Figure is the fourth buildable iteration of Spider-Man, or the third direct figure based on the character. This collection started in 2022 with a comic-inspired model and has continued with only the MCU's Iron Spider-Man since.

These buildable Spider-Man sets have only become more expensive over the past few years, nearly quadrupling in price between 76226 Spider-Man Figure and 76346 Spider-Man Hero Figure. Despite this price increase, the number of pieces included has not quadrupled accordingly, though the 2026 model has 813 elements compared to the original set's 258 parts.

That original figure measures 24cm tall, jumping up by three cm with the addition of the golden arms in 76298 Iron Spider-Man Construction Figure. The bust build is shorter, as you would expect, before the collection leaps to 36cm tall in 76346 Spider-Man Hero Figure. 76346 Spider-Man Hero Figure's height isn't even double that of 76226 Spider-Man Figure, though it is bigger in the overall proportions.

These two Spider-Man figures offer a similar range of posing options. They have joints at the wrists, elbows, knees, and other areas. The biggest difference between them in this respect is that the 2022 figure features a moving waist, while the 2026 set is static in that spot.

One of the most comparable parts of all four Spider-Man buildable models is the head. There have only been two head designs, differing according to the scale of the figures. The two smaller sets opt for a single face element, used for various other characters such as Iron Man. The larger models feature a brick-built design with angled eyes. The heads of each scale are identical and come with a suite of advantages and disadvantages.

While the smaller heads are easier to assemble, they rely on decorations to capture practically every important detail of Spider-Man's mask. The bigger heads also use decorations, but are not wholly reliant on them. They use negative space to depict the black frames between the white lenses and the red mask. They also consequently feature inaccurate shaping, such as an extended forehead.

Only 76326 Iron Spider-Man Bust is currently available, and 76346 Spider-Man Hero Figure will launch on June 1, 2026. Whether you prefer the smaller Spider-Man figures or not, you'll have to head to the aftermarket for these retired sets.
