An upcoming LEGO gift-with-purchase has now been officially confirmed, with 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller dropping next week.

It was revealed earlier today that 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller would be launching on September 8, 2025, with the 260-piece brick-built retro console accessory arriving as part of the LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog theme.

An official listing for 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller has since gone live on LEGO.com, stating that the upcoming set will be an 18+ GWP priced at £16.99 / $19.99 / €19.99, with the LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog promotion due to drop next week.

40769 SEGA Genesis Controller will launch once the current line-up of LEGO Harry Potter Back to Hogwarts GWPs have expired, although the spending threshold for obtaining the set has yet to be revealed.

40769 SEGA Genesis Controller recreates the iconic three-button video game accessory as a near 1:1 scale replica, complete with D-pad, regional stickers for customising it as a Mega Drive controller and a dedicated display stand.

In addition, 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller also features a microscale Green Hill Zone scene on the back from the original 1991 video game, one that includes a printed 1x1 spin-dashing Sonic tile that first appeared in 77006 Team Sonic Command Truck.
