LEGO GWP 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan review

40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan is an excellent start to what promises to be a fun and intriguing collection of LEGO gifts-with-purchase.

From February 27 through to March 8, or while stocks last, 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan is being awarded to LEGO Insiders spending £160 / $180 / €180 or more in LEGO Stores or at LEGO.com, on all LEGO purchases.

For that qualifying spend you pick up what is objectively a great gift-with-purchase. Thematically this little slice of sushi street food life is really fun and novel to build, whilst stylistically the design is surprisingly and wonderfully detailed, with a real ‘lived in’ feel to it, and this could sit as comfortably on a desk as in a LEGO city.

And subject matter and intrigue to one side if it’s not of taste, 40906 stands as a great parts pack for any builders, including those authentically-designed stickers for the signs.

This GWP’s instructions specifically state that this is the first in a collection of four restaurant-themed builds coming, and if 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan is anything to go by, we are very interested in building out this line-up.

40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan is available at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores from February 27 through to March 8, while stocks last, being awarded exclusively to LEGO Insiders with all LEGO purchases of £160 / $180 / €180 or more.
