LEGO Pokémon's biggest set is on back order on launch day

It's been nearly a full day since the first LEGO Pokémon sets were released, and the biggest of them is already on back order worldwide.

LEGO and Pokémon enthusiasts seem to have deep pockets today, as the £579.99 / $649.99 / €649.99 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise is currently on back order until the middle of March around the world. This was the first model to sell out during the pre-order phase too, alongside its exclusive Kanto badge gift-with-purchase.

Whether it's popularity today has something to do with the release of FireRed and LeafGreen on Nintendo Switch for Pokémon Day is unclear, but it's been a beneficial coincidence for the LEGO Group.

The rest of today's LEGO Pokémon offerings are still in stock at the time of writing, including 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection. The gift-with-purchase is exclusive to orders of 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, and any purchases over £160 / $180 / €180 until March 8 will receive a bonus 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan.

We don't how many copies of 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection remain available, and those wishing to add the GWP to their collection may want to order 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise as soon as possible. Copies worldwide will currently ship out mid-March.
