The LEGO Pokémon launch hasn't been going for a full week yet, and it's already getting even messier than we thought.
When any major franchise partners with the LEGO Group, there's always going to be a furore around the reveal and launch. It's relatively rare, however, that we get an early indicator of how well sets are going to sell.
In the case of 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, the LEGO Group made its exclusive GWP available with pre-orders in a move we think might actually be unprecedented. The stock of 40892 Kanto Region Badge Collection quickly disappeared, although with a terms-and-conditions promise that it would return on launch day.
Considering the LEGO Group shared how much stock was released of the GWP, that gives us some idea of how popular the biggest LEGO Pokémon set was during pre-orders, and therefore an indication of what's awaiting fans on release day. Brick Fanatics' Matthew has been speculating on what the pre-order chaos tells us about the launch of LEGO Pokémon in our latest YouTube video.

LEGO Pokémon 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise is available to pre-order now in most regions, alongside 72151 Eevee and 72152 Pikachu and Poké Ball, but without the GWP that was originally available.
