A surprise LEGO One Piece special has been announced for later this year, fully unveiling LEGO Chopper's figure as well as other new builds.
Netflix have announced that, as part of their partnership with the LEGO Group, LEGO One Piece will receive an animated special on September 29, following similar specials for Disney+ focused on Marvel and Star Wars. LEGO One Piece has received a full trailer to tease what is to come later this year.
The trailer doesn't reveal much of the special's story, besides hints that it may focus on Usopp. The voice sounds familiar, though it is not currently confirmed whether this is the voice of actor Jacob Gibson from the live-action.
More details have been provided by The Hollywood Reporter, including that this will be a two-part special retelling the first two seasons of the series. The special is produced in partnership with The LEGO Group, One Piece manga publisher Shueisha and Atomic.
“The passion of the One Piece fandom is unparalleled – spanning generations, they’ve turned our live-action series into a true global phenomenon that continues to top the Netflix charts," said Marian Lee, Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix.
"We are massive fans too, which is why we’re going bigger than ever to bring the Grand Line to life across every medium. From the epic high stakes of One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta in 2027 to our first-ever LEGO animated special this September, a stunning anime reimagining with The One Piece, and an expanded line of products so fans can bring the adventure home, we are building a universe where every fan — whether lifelong or brand new — can find their place in the Straw Hat crew.”
On the subject of One Piece news, a third season has been announced for 2027, focusing on the Alabasta arc. The second season is available to watch in full now.
