The LEGO Group is launching a new brick-built suitcase in April, and it won’t fit your stuff in it – but it is perfectly scaled for its range of giant minifigures…
40817 Yellow Travel Suitcase is a cute 184-piece set that’s sure to be a strong seller in airports, but you might find yourself grabbing it when it launches in April whether you’re going on holiday or staying at home. That’s because it’s the perfect companion piece for 40649 Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure and this year’s 40819 Up-Scaled Racing Driver Minifigure, as demonstrated in these images from Dylan Chow.
Catching a flight in full racing fatigues might not be everybody’s idea of a good time, but this guy seems all smiles about the situation. 40817 Yellow Travel Suitcase debuts April 1, 2025 for £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99, and will be available exclusively in LEGO Stores (both retail and travel, presumably) and at LEGO.com.
Alongside its stickered yellow suitcase, the set includes a bunch of travel-themed brick-built accessories, like a camera, passport, toothbrush and, erm, a sandwich. Just don’t expect each of those items to scale as well to each other as the suitcase does to these minifigures…
