LEGO modular building fans are in for an expensive year

We're starting to get a good idea of what models are scheduled to retire at the end of 2026, including multiple pricey LEGO modular buildings.

One month into the year, and the list of LEGO sets retiring in 2026 is packed with appealing and expensive entries. LEGO Star Wars enthusiasts are running out of time to pick up 75192 Millennium Falcon, the only LEGO Dungeons & Dragons model is due to leave shelves, and more.

While it's going to be an expensive year for nearly every kind of LEGO fan, modular building collectors are going to need to make more room in their budget than most. Similar to 2025, there are three modular buildings currently due to retire in 2026, and they're all more expensive than the typical builds in the collection.

Read on for your guide to modular models leaving shelves in 2026, noting that these retirement dates are subject to change over the next 11 months.

10326 Natural History Museum

The only official entry into the Modular Buildings collection due to retire this year is also one of the biggest in the range's history. 10326 Natural History Museum comes with 4,014 pieces, beating that of 10255 Assembly Square. It's the largest LEGO modular building in Creator Expert and Icons by piece count and is spread over one and a half baseplates, 48 studs wide.

10326 Natural History Museum is the first and only museum on the modular street so far. The exhibits include a wall of LEGO references, a brachiosaurus skeleton, as well as other exhibits based on space and geology. The outside of this museum features a cherry blossom tree, statues, giant white columns and exclusive banners advertising the exhibits inside.

10326 Natural History Museum will set you back £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. It's priced slightly higher than standard modular buildings, thanks to its larger size.

76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion

The other two modular buildings currently due to retire in 2026 are both based on superheroes, reflecting the changing state of the modular street over the past few years. 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion was released in 2024 for £289.99 / $329.99 / €329.99, offering by far the most complete LEGO X-Men experience to date.

The minifigures are a major draw of this model, including exclusive characters from Gambit to Jean Grey. The building itself is smaller than most one-and-a-half baseplate builds, using just over 3,000 elements. The outside features the mansion's gardens with signs of a battle, a basketball hoop and the stately architecture complete with the dome at the top.

Inside, 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion includes the Danger Room, a classroom, and a lobby with a themed rug. There's also a laboratory and sleeping quarters packed with references to characters from the X-Men. Whether for the minifigures or for a complete modular street, time is running out to pick up 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion before its retirement at the end of the year.

76300 Arkham Asylum

LEGO DC is new to the modular range, but its first entry is already scheduled to retire. 76300 Arkham Asylum is another minifigure-heavy model packed with exclusive characters or depictions of popular characters. The selection includes Batwing, Poison Ivy, the Riddler and recognisable characters with exclusive forms such as Robin.

76300 Arkham Asylum is the first and so far only inverted corner in the modular street, but it is designed to act like a straight or regular corner if you don't mind the break in the pavement. As an inverted corner, 76300 Arkham Asylum's gothic exterior sinks further back than most builds, making room for a yard in front of the asylum.

Inside 76300 Arkham Asylum are two floors of cells, a control room with a special padded cell, an office and 65 stickers full of Easter eggs. At £269.99 in the UK, $299.99 in the US, or €299.99 in Europe, 76300 Arkham Asylum is more expensive than the average single baseplate-modular.

Honourable mention: 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition

While not part of the main street, the retiring 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition is also worth a mention for how it can connect to the rest of the retired Diagon Alley range. Its modular nature doesn't limit its solo display value, though. There's a whole underground section to enhance an individual display of 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition.

76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition costs $369.99 / $429.99 / €429.99 and is currently sold out in the US, with reports of no further restocks in the region. The model is due to retire in July, while the rest of the sets in this list are scheduled to retire in December.
