LEGO Marvel rumours suggest you can have too much of a good thing

New iterations of some very familiar LEGO Marvel sets may well be returning in 2026, if the latest rumours for next year prove to be correct.

Multiple potential LEGO Marvel sets are rumoured to be on the way in 2026, with as many as 13 different models possibly arriving in the months to come. Of course, none of those builds listed in the table further down this story have been officially confirmed to date, so do take any such details with a pinch of salt for now.

However, it's worth noting that the latest rumours from the usually-reliable Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat suggest that two of those specific upcoming LEGO Marvel models might be based on previously-released offerings, which may not be what some fans are hoping for.

76341 Buildable Groot and 76343 Hulkbuster are both said to be on the way in January 2026, making them merely the latest iterations of familiar characters and builds that we’ve seen released numerous times before. Although the potential LEGO Marvel sets may be launching at what look to be fairly affordable prices (but low piece counts), do we really need even more of them?

When it comes to Tony Stark’s red and gold gamma-smashing suit, we’ve already had the likes of 76105 The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition, 76164 Iron Man Hulkbuster versus A.I.M. Agent, 76210 Hulkbuster, 76247 The Hulkbuster: The Battle of Wakanda and even the scaled-down 76263 Iron Man Hulkbuster vs. Thanos to date.

As for fans of the Guardians of the Galaxy’s tree-based hero, the character has appeared in 76020 Knowhere Escape Mission, plus there's been 76217 I am Groot, 76249 Venomized Groot, 40671 Potted Groot, 76297 Dancing Groot and multiple minifigures and figures so far, which should be plenty of the Flora colossus for anyone.

If the LEGO Marvel team is doubling down on the popularity of the Hulkbuster and Groot in 2026, that’s potentially good news for those hoping for new iterations of fan-favourites to add to their collections. In the meantime, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the rumoured models will at least offer something fresh and interesting, if the theme is indeed returning to the creative well once again.
