LEGO Marvel seemingly isn't done with its mini modulars collection

LEGO Marvel appears to be sticking with Spider-Man as it's said to expand its unofficial collection of mini modular buildings.

Fresh rumours from lego_minecraft_goat on Instagram suggest a trio of sets are due for release in January 2026, including 76342 Daily Bugle, said to launch with 781 pieces for €109.99. With the much larger 76178 Daily Bugle retiring at the end of 2025, it's perhaps the perfect time for the LEGO Group to release a replacement.

It also seems to mark the continuation of the mini modular buildings that have been hitting shelves throughout 2025. We've already had 76311 Miles Morales vs. The Spot, 76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp, and 76317 Peter Parker’s Apartment, which all connect together to form one larger street. The rumoured price and piece count of 76342 Daily Bugle puts it in line with the sets that came before it.

It's a more affordable way to get a connected network of Marvel LEGO buildings, although it doesn't have quite the same broad appeal as the larger modulars. Where the bigger sets cover multiple franchises and superheroes across 76178 Daily Bugle, 76269 Avengers Tower, 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion, and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, the smaller ones are focused not just on one franchise, but on one superhero: Spider-Man.

It's a spidery year, with all these Spider-Man-themed builds that link to one another and the recently launched 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and it looks set to continue in 2026 with the rumoured 76342 Daily Bugle. While that set should be taken with a pinch of salt for now until we get an official confirmation from the LEGO Group, if the rumours are true, the world of Spider-Man on that scale would expand even further to include the newspaper that Peter Parker works at.

With Tom Holland's Spider-Man now moved into his own New York flat and seemingly ready to embark on adult life with a focus on street-level crime, it's the perfect time for the MCU's version of the web-slinging hero to enter the world of work as a photographer.

Looking beyond Spider-Man, there's a lot of fodder for LEGO Marvel and even DC to explore more of these hyper-focused, smaller modulars. You could arguably build up a street of locations at this scale around the Avengers, around other iconic New York buildings, and even Arkham or Metropolis in the world of DC. At a time when LEGO sets feel like they're getting increasingly expensive, it's heartening to see that the LEGO Group is still maintaining sets at lower price points at the same time.
