The lack of a black-suited Spider-Man minifigure in the LEGO Marvel 2026 wave means that fans will have to keep on holding out for their hero.
There’s good news for fans of everyone’s favourite wall-crawler, as a new wave of six LEGO Marvel sets will be released on January 1, 2026, with the majority of those focused on Peter Parker’s alter ego.
Of note in particular is 76334 Epic Battle: Spider-Man vs. Sandman, the first-ever LEGO Marvel model to be based on the Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, but one that is missing a key minifigure – a black-suited Spider-Man.
Only one such minifigure has been released to date, in the shape of a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive given away at the pop culture event back in 2012. Spider-Man in his black symbiote costume was up for grabs in strictly limited numbers via a promotional raffle and hasn’t received wider availability to date, making it an expensive purchase on the secondary market.
76334 Epic Battle: Spider-Man vs. Sandman would therefore have seemed the most logical set for the minifigure to be included in, but alas that wasn’t meant to be. Versions of the striking black and white take on the classic costume have popped up in other LEGO Marvel sets over the years, but not the clean look of the outfit that debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man # 252 back in 1984.
That’s not to say that the LEGO Marvel model is lacking when it comes to its minifigure selection though. 76334 Epic Battle: Spider-Man vs. Sandman comes with a version of Spidey that has dual-moulded legs (but no arm printing), the first full Sandman minifigure and a movie-accurate take on the villainous Venom.
For now though, the wait for a dedicated black-suited Spider-Man minifigure from the third of the Sam Raimi films continues, unless you’re a LEGO Marvel fan with very deep pockets that is.
