LEGO Ideas submission could receive a Fortnite boost this week

An upcoming Fortnite event this week could provide a potential boost to a LEGO Ideas submission currently in the third review of 2024.

A grand total of 54 projects recently qualified for the third LEGO Ideas review of 2024, with an announcement on which models will become physical sets due in the second half of the year.

Of those fan-designed submissions, one particular build might well receive a potential boost in awareness this week, thanks to an upcoming Fortnite event. MattE720’s LEGO Godzilla qualified for the third LEGO Ideas review of 2024 back in October and is currently awaiting the judging panel’s final verdict.

In the meantime, Epic Games is preparing its latest content update for Fortnite players, including a massive Godzilla terrorising the Island map. The Toho beast was featured in the first trailer for the current Fortnite Chapter and fans having been patiently waiting for the King of the Monsters to appear in the game.

Rumours suggest that Godzilla will be crashing into Fortnite Battle Royale on January 17 and may not only appear in the shop as a skin, but might be seen stomping around the Island, potentially facing off against King Kong and Mechagodzilla. All of that bodes well for raising the profile of LEGO Godzilla while its currently under review, potentially giving the submission a little nudge closer to becoming a reality.
