LEGO Ideas Galileo tribute fan designer pitches Avatar return, again

Avatar (the one with the elements, not the blue aliens) has been pitched to return again on LEGO Ideas, making use of Fortnite LEGO Styles.

The days of LEGO Avatar sets may be long behind us, but the 2006 theme has been proposed to return via LEGO Ideas several times in previous review rounds. The third 2025 review will now join these efforts thanks to Firecracker_'s second attempt at bringing Avatar back to the portfolio.

The fan designer behind 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei has modified their last Appa the sky bison build to be mid-flight with a cloud-themed display stand, cleverly coloured off-white so as not to contrast with Appa's fur. The 1,200-piece build is anything but simple, featuring many elements place on their side and angled to realistically recreate the unique creature.

Five minifigures are proposed in this project, representing the core cast of Team Avatar. These include Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko, fittingly depicting a bender from each of the four elements as well as a non-bender. These minifigure designs borrow some aspects from Fortnite's official Avatar LEGO Styles, but adapted to use only existing elements.

After the numerous previous attempts at LEGO Avatar, and a seeming lack of the blue-alien Avatar franchise in the current portfolio following Way of Water's release, we can only hope that this will finally prompt the LEGO Group to delve back into the elemental animated series.

For now, this submission has joined the third review of 2025, as the 25th build to be considered for a set once it stops accepting entries.
