Upcoming LEGO Ideas Build Your Hobby GWP confirmed

The LEGO Group has revealed the results of the Build Your Hobby challenge, confirming a future LEGO Ideas gift-with-purchase in the process.

Fifteen builds made it through to the fan vote for the latest challenge, and Doomslizer’s Build, Paint and Play! has come out on top. That means it will now enter production to become a future LEGO Ideas gift-with-purchase, available in LEGO Stores and at LEGO.com… well, at some stage, and based on the timeline of previous contests probably not until the second half of 2026 at the earliest.

Their model aptly uses one medium of model making to recreate another, specifically building miniatures, complete with a sprue, cutting tool, glue, paint and brushes and a decal sheet. The model as pitched also includes a blue Classic Space astronaut, which we haven’t seen in a set (outside Benny in The LEGO Movie) since the ‘80s, so it’ll be interesting to see whether that makes the cut.

As well as the honour of having their design turned into a LEGO Ideas GWP, Doomslizer will receive 10 complimentary copies of the finished model, along with 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine, 10312 Jazz Club, 21355 The Evolution of STEM, 21342 The Insect Collection, 10329 Tiny Plants, 21346 Family Tree and 21349 Tuxedo Cat. All 14 runners-up will receive 21355 The Evolution of STEM and 10329 Tiny Plants.

Build, Paint and Play! now joins an ever-changing list of LEGO Ideas sets currently in production.
