LEGO Icons' 2026 modular building has been rebuilt

LEGO Icons' 2026 modular building presents a drastic shift for the collection, but some fans have rebuilt it into something more familiar.

11371 Shopping Street is a generational leap for LEGO modular buildings, as mentioned in our thorough review. While its services play it safe, the design, aesthetics and angles are all different from most of the other LEGO modular buildings. It's going to stand out from the rest of the collection for this reason, which may be good news for some enthusiasts.

Others creating a modular street may have been hoping for something more familiar, and a selection of fans have taken it upon themselves to rebuild 11371 Shopping Street based on this criterion. It's only been just over three weeks since the set was released, but here are three such alternate builds which are available online.

PL MOCs' alternate take on Rebrickable isn't quite as drastically changed as the rest. It essentially reorganises the layout of the official set to turn it into a corner modular building rather than a straight entry.

It's an ingenious remix of the original set that keeps the personality of the build, but adapts it for enthusiasts who would have preferred another corner this year. You'll only need one copy of 11371 Shopping Street and €13 for the instructions.

Brick Artisan's design also only needs one copy of 11371 Shopping Street, but it's hard to tell that this is an alternate build of the 2026 set, aside from the colour scheme. Their build turns the pair of shops and apartment into two shops and offices, greatly expanding the interior space by removing any of the angles that make the layout of 11371 Shopping Street unique.

It's a good option for LEGO modular building collectors aiming for something much more familiar to add to their street this year, yet still packing in a lot of interesting architectural details. The instructions will set you back $18.

Rounding out the initial array of alternate builds for 11371 Shopping Street is one that also requires a copy of LEGO Marvel's 76317 Peter Parker’s Apartment. The superhero set mixes with the modular building to appropriate make a comic book shop at the core of Petrus Odyssey's design.

The building also includes an apartment for Peter Parker as well as an antique shop with notable use of levels in the interiors, the likes of which we have only rarely seen in the collection. The water feature in front of the comic shop is also unique, expanding on the use of water in the official 11371 Shopping Street.

11371 Shopping Street is available now for £229.99 / $249.99 / €249.99 and a copy of 76317 Peter Parker’s Apartment will cost £44.99 / $54.99 / €49.99. You'll then need the instructions on Rebrickable for $17.99, but they combine to create a more familiar modular building experience.

More alternate builds of 11371 Shopping Street are likely to follow throughout the year, but it's interesting to see the majority of the designs so far default to eschew the angles from the official set in favour of a reliable experience and bigger interior spaces.
