All eyes are on LEGO Harry Potter this month with the launch of its latest flagship build, so the LEGO Group has taken the opportunity to bump the retiring dates of two of its best Wizarding World sets.
There are two major changes to be aware of to the full list of retiring LEGO Harry Potter sets this month, and they both involve microscale Hogwarts builds. 71043 Hogwarts Castle and 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds each serve up the school of witchcraft and wizardry in miniature, only at different sizes, and were originally both slated to retire by the end of 2025.
The LEGO Group has now pushed their retirement dates to December 31, 2026, giving each one an extra year on shelves (at a minimum). 71043 Hogwarts Castle is the oldest LEGO Harry Potter set still in production, and at this point it looks like it’s basically never going to retire: it is to the Wizarding World what 75192 Millennium Falcon is to a galaxy far, far away, which is to say the holy grail of its theme.

It is pretty expensive, though – and that’s where 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds comes in. Achieving the same thing as the bigger set but at a fraction of the price, the quasi-LEGO Architecture set manages to incorporate not only the school but also its surroundings, including the greenhouses, courtyards, bridges, paths and the Black Lake, along with micro-models of the Durmstrang Ship and Beauxbatons Carriage.
Cramming all that into a space-friendly set that still looks the business has earned 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds a coveted spot in Brick Fanatics’ Top 20 LEGO sets list. And while you certainly don’t need to rush to pick it up, the 2,660-piece set is actually on sale at Amazon right now for only £109.99 (a £40 discount on its RRP).
It’s business as usual for LEGO Harry Potter otherwise, with the same selection of sets still up for retirement in 2024. The only other new addition to the list is
